Amazing tool! Sterile, easy to use, painless!

This is an amazing little gadget! I read the rave reviews, so I was confident that it would be a great product, but when I had it in my hand I was doubtful. There's hardly anything to it! It works beautifully, though and is so simple to use. I wasn't really sure how hard to press the two ends, but I figured that it would be better to press a little too hard rather than not hard enough, so I gave it a good, firm squeeze. The earring post zipped through my ear lobe painlessly, affixing the earring back to the post instantly. The plastic pieces that held the earring fell to the floor. It couldn't have been more perfect! I normally wear the round, plastic discs for earring backs because I have sensitive ears, but I decided to leave the metal ones on and see how it went rather than mess with it. I've had no problems at all with discomfort, even when sleeping. It's a good idea to follow the instructions regarding lining up the holes so that your earrings are at the exact same level. The instructions say to use a marker, I was wondering if ordinary ink markers could cause infection, especially a used one. (The ink will get driven into your flesh by the needle). I used a purple pen that tattoo artists use to draw the design on a person's skin. (And surgeons use to mark the skin where they will make incisions) Obviously that ink does no harm when it gets pushed into the skin, which is why they use it. I found some on Best Buy:(5 Pack) Viscot Mini XL Surgical Markers Stencil Skin Scribes Purple- for about $6 and recieved them in 3-4 days. For fast healing, consider using povidone iodine solution (instead of alcohol) - you can get it on Best Buy or at Walmart, etc., because it won't dry and damage your skin, inhibiting healing, the way alcohol can. Povidone iodine is used by surgeons to prep skin for surgery in order to prevent infections. Most people probably won't bother with these precautions, but consider them if you tend to heal slowly or have had problems with infection. Bottom line, though - don't be afraid to use this piercer - it's sterile, it's safe and it's painless!P.s. - the earrings are nice, they have lots of sparkle!
