This is no extra pocket. I spent a lot of money and bought a Fossil wallet because I expected it to last longer than some of the cheaper wallets. So far this has not happened. I have at least one card in each main wallet slot and multiple slots have 2 cards. My driver's license and other ID's are in a small sliding flap. When you do this, the back of the wallet fold gets really stretched and deformed (could you call it a "loop"?) and the skin starts to peel and the wallet really doesn't want to close. I really don't think I carry an unreasonable amount of stuff in my wallet and one of the reasons I bought it was the extra storage space the detachable part gives me. If the wallet can't function properly when fully used, it probably doesn't need a redesign. All in all, this is a nice wallet that does a good job of meeting my needs when I take the flap out.
