I tried to install this on a 2011 328i but unfortunately it didn't work. The front of the cup holder was smooth and shiny cardboard in places. Then when I tried to install it, I couldn't install it. I went back and forth between this cup holder and the original to make sure I put it in correctly, but it just didn't fit. The return was expired so I kept trying to get it working but in the end the support message on the back broke rendering it unusable. Instead, I would recommend looking for genuine parts.
