This is not a factory OEM so don't expect the same level of improvement. It opens quicker and less gracefully, as if racing, while the stock cupholder introduces itself. My setup never fitted perfectly flush with the dash even after uninstalling and reinstalling, but it wasn't that bad and no one would notice. A fair replacement, but if imperfection bothers you, spend the extra money on an OEM part.

The coaster arrived very quickly. Well packed. Almost perfect for my 2008 BMW 328XI, the slight difference is that all of these replacement parts have an additional silver stripe on the front - see attached photos - the left cup holder has a silver stripe as opposed to the original right cup holder, which is all Black. It fits my E90 perfectly. The exchange took less than 2 minutes. The downside is that it feels completely different to slide in and out (read: cheaper/less heavy) than the OEM version. Also, the exact finish is different, so the silver finish doesn't match the passenger cup holder. I was able to remove the front from it and replace it with an OEM version. I tried to install this on a 2011 328i but unfortunately it didn't work. The front of the cup holder was smooth and shiny cardboard in places. Then when I tried to install it, I couldn't install it. I went back and forth between this cup holder and the original to make sure I put it in correctly, but it just didn't fit.
