Review on IOTA Engineering 318.1402 Converter and Charger, 55-Amp: Efficient Power Conversion and Charging Solution by Joe Roberts

I replaced the IOTA charger with this latest model of the same and am VERY happy with the purchase. It arrived and works exactly as advertised and with the separate IQ controller plug-in I have the option to upgrade to LiPo in the future simply by swapping out the IQ controller. This charger with controller keeps my batteries at the ideal level and eliminates the worry of overcharging when we have to leave it plugged in for long stays at fully connected campsites. There are a couple of 30 amp fuses which will blow if you accidentally flip the battery rather than fry the inside of the unit. (Of course, we all think "I would never do that” until it happens.) Note that my previous charger was a stock fitment on a 2003 RV, and when I called IOTA, people said they don't plan on doing this one to use chargers longer than fifteen years. Capacitors are consumable internal parts that begin to fail a few years past the ten year mark. I've thought about it and it's perfectly reasonable to replace such a device every 15 years. Let us.
