Holds the Mac Mini (the aluminum version, not the old polycarbonate version) in an upright position. Not only does this minimize the desktop footprint, but I'm pretty sure it improves airflow inside the box. The processor is in the back corner closest to the SDXC slot. By positioning the Mini so that this corner is up instead of down, hot air will flow out of the box more naturally, which should help keep the inside of the case cool. The best possible position is with the front of the Mini DOWN and the cables UP. However, it looks pretty ugly when all the cables are visible to everyone. Second best position: Mini facing front, cables at back, Mini bottom left (SDXC slot facing up). It has a very nice soft plastic lining around the slot that holds the case in place. on the spot and also prevents scratches on the aluminum paintwork. The entire stand is of high quality.
