Almost a good idea, but it doesn't work on the new iPhone. I bought this as a track day camera mount and it just can't keep the phone steady even on city streets. Mine is in a case and that seems to be part of the problem. But who here wants to risk a $1,100 phone hanging from the windshield without a case? Even worse is the problem with the phone panel. A magnet that needs to be attached to the back of the phone blocks the charging process. I don't really want to charge through the cable. Take this into account when planning your purchase. As for me, I just plan on throwing it away and trying something else.
