I bought this tiny PCI-E card along with a Buffalo 2TB SS USB 3.0 External HD and put this little pup in one Plugged into PCI-E 1X slot and used the power cable (included) to get power from the SATA power cable used by my DVD drive. (Note: The included power cable has a SATA male to SATA female connector which connects to another SATA female connector and finally ends in a 4-pin flex connector to power your new USB 3.0 card. Because I didn't have a spare power supply from my power supply, this adapter cable is perfect for my setup). I checked Device Manager for driver conflicts or problems and that's it! . Easy, direct and hassle-free installation without additional items since everything necessary was INCLUDED! gotta love it! I unpacked and plugged in my new Buffalo 2TB 3.0 external hard drive (using the included USB 3.0 cable and power cord), WIN 7 64 recognized and installed the hard drive, drivers and assigned drive letters! Very cool. A whole lot like a true plug and play device! In addition to the amazing speed boost, the HD comes preloaded with a bunch of very useful software that is configured by default to use an included 'green' program that automatically controls the power supply. for an external HD to mimic everything your PC is doing. Turn on from PC, turn off from PC and even hibernate from PC! And they make great friends! I must say. I am very impressed with Buffalo and these devices as they have obviously done their homework on this project. A flawless package that includes everything you need to upgrade to USB 3.0 and the amazing data transfer speeds that come with it. By the way, if you have a few extra gigabytes of system RAM, you're wondering what to do with it. Try the included HD RAMDISK software for EXTREME transfer speeds! If you listen closely, you can almost hear Captain Kirk Demading say "WARP SPEED" before you click the mouse button! Watchtower Buffalo! Excellent work!
