REALLY EASY SOLUTION FOR UNREADABLE FILES!

I plugged it in and I could see the files but they didn't play. This just brings me back to my last source, in my case my PC. I kept trying every solution I could find. I've searched the forum for days to no avail. I called Samsung and spent 40 minutes waiting, I was transferred to different departments, but there was no solution in sight. I thought about returning it, but then decided a $50 TB disc would be a good deal. I started uploading it with other 4K files but the back of my mind was itching all these great files that were right there but I couldn't see them. Since my other 4K files worked fine, I started wondering if I couldn't just change the .um4 extensions since the TV obviously doesn't understand them, and I highly doubted that Samsung would create a completely different codec for these files Has. So, as a last resort, I tried a very simple experiment. I uploaded the .um4 file to Super Video Converter. Lo and behold, it showed me that it was indeed an mp4 file. Could it be that simple? Can I just change this stupid extension from .um4 to .mp4 and it will work? YUP! IT WORKS! Formally completely unrecognizable files, now everything works fine with .mp4 extensions! It's just so funny! Why didn't anyone understand this before me? Anyway, I hope to have helped someone and you can breathe a sigh of relief: Yes, the files work. I don't know what Samsung was thinking about sending these files when most TVs don't seem to understand them, even with the latest firmware. As for the files themselves, the documentation is stunning. SOME movies look good, like Star Trek: Retribution and The Wolverine, others don't. Forrest Gump, for example, looks worse than Blu-ray. The first Star Trek and WWZ don't look good either. Pi's life is so-so. I'm just basing it on the first few minutes so they can get better.
