This was a working purchase to replace an Intermec printer that cost four times the price. The printer was easy to set up right out of the box. Once online, CUPS discovered the printer within seconds. (We use Centos Linux). Just plug in the network cable and power cord. Presto. It was also nice that so few additional settings were necessary. Because the printer is heat sensitive, there is no ribbon. The printer's speed when printing labels is just great. We were able to generate part labels with lots of headroom. I also like that the printer can sort of determine where the start point of the label is. We haven't had any delivery problems yet. The quality of the printer is also excellent. We reduced the font size to 7pt and you can still read the labels. You'll have to squint to read them, of course, but still not bad. All of the barcodes we printed were readable with the software we used and we had no problems scanning them. Overall, we're very happy to have such a printer for just $400.
