Good product, more pros than cons.

Be sure to change the firmware to the latest, even if the printer seems to be working. Otherwise, it will become a brick and in order to upload the firmware, you will need to connect the programmer to the microcircuit. Some of the penultimate firmware with an error. Has some pros Reliable unit as standard. Vandal resistant, but only without options. Cons: Flimsy label peeler mechanism. I had to draw instructions for threading the tape into the separator and stick it on the printer, but this…

Definitely an upgrade over the Dymo 4XL!

We print a lot of mail on 4x6 labels and have used a DYMO LabelWriter 4XL connected to a USB print server for the last few years. While this combination worked well, there were a few problems: 1) Dymo printers tend to fall apart after just a few months of use. We usually go at least 2 times a year and I always had to have a spare on hand. 2) The need for an additional print server added complexity and occasional problems. When our last Dymo printer broke I was about to get another one when I…

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Sad hardware

I would not recommend this product to others

Product does not level properly. I bought three different labels with it and they all have the same problem. It's definitely the printer itself. I've tried multiple driver and software reinstalls. I also tried other calculators. Same results every time. I live in Japan so don't go back. I would not recommend this product as I saw a lot of good reviews so I bought it. Maybe I was unlucky, so maybe I just caught some shit.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Modern

Ideal printer for the home or small office

Very good printer. Does the job right. With direct thermal printers, it should be noted that the print quality depends on the software/application used. When we used stamps.com and we were all on a Mac and needed to use their online version of the app, the quality wasn't that great. I suspect that they only print the labels as bitmaps, so sometimes the label is even barely readable. We then switched to Endicia.com and these guys seem to know what they're doing. I believe the label is sent to…

Good little printer

This was a working purchase to replace an Intermec printer that cost four times the price. The printer was easy to set up right out of the box. Once online, CUPS discovered the printer within seconds. (We use Centos Linux). Just plug in the network cable and power cord. Presto. It was also nice that so few additional settings were necessary. Because the printer is heat sensitive, there is no ribbon. The printer's speed when printing labels is just great. We were able to generate part labels…
