HP cartridges are not only expensive, they don't even work on the printers they are intended for. I was just trying to swap out the cyan, magenta and yellow cartridges in my printer and got an error message saying I'm using incompatible (non-HP) cartridges. On the HP support website (they no longer offer consumer phone support) the cyan and yellow cartridges have been flagged as potential culprits. Providing further information, the yellow cartridge was flagged as the culprit. I found that the cartridge is no longer available so I may need a new printer. HP won't be.
