Although it will work with the Mercruiser 5.0L/5.7L Chevy engine, it can be extremely dangerous when used with a marine engine. Boat manifolds are designed to suppress sparks that can cause fuel vapor explosions in a boat's engine compartment. The spark suppressor is usually built into the distributor through a vent in the cover that extends beyond the base of the distributor, which is covered with a fine mesh screen. This works by speeding up the flow of gas when a spark occurs and causes the fumes to be cooled so they don't ignite. I don't think this distributor has that safety feature which isn't needed in an automotive application due to the more ventilated environment. Based on the answers to the questions I asked the seller, it seems that this is a distributor designed for cars, but also suitable for a marine engine. It's not worth risking your life to save a few bucks.
