Circuit breakers work as they should. I was replacing a double pole circuit breaker that an electrician had replaced after a 7200 volt surge. When I found that the double pole was spanning two of our household circuits, I ordered two single pole circuit breakers in place of the double pole. With most of our electrical appliances in need of replacement, I had a hard time flipping the oven's two-pole circuit breaker (110 volts), which also shut off the kitchen circuitry including the refrigerator, microwave, and other electrical outlets. kitchen, as well as a freezer in the garage where the oven is located.
