Just got around to installing these backup lights to replace the factory bladed bulbs. Not exactly an accurate comparison as the bulbs in my car are now almost 6 years old and have faded in brightness but I suspect they would burn out a new bulb. They're quite white, as opposed to the warm glow found in a traditional lamp, and IMO this adds to the perception of the light's brightness - although it's actually a representation of where the light's temperature is on the Kelvin scale. Scale drops - and they lack flashy blues (and they're marketed as xenon white). They appear to fall right at around 5000K, which is usually listed as 'bright white', falling between 4100K 'cool white' and 6500K 'daylight'. With 5000K "bright white” classified for use in hospitals and locations that require very bright lighting for maximum clarity, for example, these 1550 lumen LEDs (DAS is a measure of a light's brightness) hit the spot. What I do know for sure is that these lights throw MUCH more light behind my car when I put it in reverse, and who doesn't need to see where they're going when I'm in reverse? Yes, that's why I'm very happy with this purchase. Now there is only one question left to answer: how long do they last? show longevity.
