The sharpest, most durable surgical blade ever made

I started using X-Acto knives when I was 11 (1963) to assemble and tune car model kits and other hobbies. It was a knife that my older brother used on his own car models. When I became a graphic designer in 1975, X-Acto knives were the premier artistic tool and the industry standard. We didn't have computers back then and we cut everything by hand for reproductions. No other brand of blade has ever been used in the advertising and graphic arts industries. Since then I have been using them for 30 years as a lighting and furniture designer and builder. All in all I've been using X-Acto #11 blades professionally and almost every hour in my studio for 46 years. I couldn't imagine my professional life without her. But here is the main question. DO NOT ACCEPT SPARE PARTS! NEVER. JE. Competitive blades are practically useless. I've used them on the rare occasion I've foolishly run out of #11. Trust me, they aren't nearly as sharp and lose their point/point almost immediately. Worst of all, competitor blades can ruin your work, because #11 jobs almost always require very thin, precise cuts—a surgically sharp, rigid point with a long cutting edge and thin enough (top to bottom) to cut even the smallest of areas to achieve bodywork. Work. In addition, the very thin blade shape provides clear visual access to the work area and cutting area. You can cut perfectly even circles with the #11 blade. I have found the #11 blade to be the most versatile of all the X-Acto blade shapes, and the "hobby" blades offered by the X-Acto are unusual and awkward to handle with. #11 DOES EVERYTHING and is therefore the #1 standard in art, design, craft and photography. They're expensive, but worth every penny. They change grip quickly and never fail as X-Actis quality control makes every blade perfect. Not a single bad or poorly finished blade in 46 years.
