I had a night shield the same thickness as this one which I used for several years until I lost it when moving house. Bought this as a replacement. The casting process is easy if you follow the instructions and the result is a snug and comfortable fit. I was very happy with how quickly I got it back (especially considering the holidays) and how well it fits. However, after only a few weeks of use (and not even daily) the material becomes so rough and frayed that parts are sticking out. The?! I had the predecessor for almost 2 years, nothing like that happened. It must be something else, or it may have contained air bubbles or something else that has damaged the finish. I would not recommend it for this reason. It's crazy to feel those rough spots with my tongue which is why I stopped using it after almost a month.
