The set is immediately razor sharp. I was very impressed with the ergonomic design of the handles. They feel good in my hands and are easy to work with. The wooden block is well varnished from all sides, even from below! The 8-inch chef's knife weighs 195 grams, 45 grams less than the Cutco mini chef's knife, a win-win option for those who tire of heavier knives. After about a few preparatory sessions, the knives didn't lose any appreciable sharpness. All in all this is a wonderful set that I would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to enjoy high quality without the big brands.
