So far, so good! - Computer Accessories and Peripherals

I have never heard of this brand and reviews are mixed. But the price was reasonable so I decided to give it a try. So far, so good. My laptop didn't have an HDMI port or a full-size SD card slot. For me as a photographer, both things are important for working on a big screen and importing files from camera memory cards. I was pleasantly surprised by the build quality. The adapter is made of durable metal, feels strong, not plastic. Of course, only time will tell the build quality. I checked all ports and they are working fine. The speeds are on the level of pure USB speeds with slight deviations that are within the tolerance or error limits. My external Samsung T3 I SSD achieves 430 MB/s reading and about 400 MB writing on direct USB-3. With the adapter I was able to get about 420/400. Using an adapter to drive an external HDMI 1080 TV and a Samsung drive, I got about 420/390. The difference may be due to the temperature of the SSD. I'll do a cleaner test soon. Advantages: - Very small and compact. Less than I expected. The build quality is very good and solid. The metal case is very hard. - 2x USB and SD card readers work at full speed after the test. Cons: - Body gets hot. Even when connected to the network with no connections, it feels warm. You probably can't leave it on 24 hours a day, 7 days a week - the metal case is good for cooling, but it's also hot to the touch. The temperature isn't boiling hot, but it's definitely warmer than you'd expect. - I wish it had an extra USB. Looks like there might be another one. But it's not such a big deal.
