Very high quality and works like clockwork

It may seem like I'm using a technical version of Pimp My Ride, but currently my 2018 15" Macbook Pro is connected to this hub, which then connects to my Dell 2410 monitor and an attached USB docking station is the USB hub. on a monitor and chained to an external hard drive, USB speakers, Logitech gaming mouse, Logitech keyboard, USB ethernet adapter, and somehow it handles it all with no issues. I have some photos of my current setup that I've shared so you have an idea of how it currently…

Pros
  • Super Speed USB 3.0 Ports (at full speed): Allows you to connect a keyboard, mouse, hard drive, etc. to your MacBook Pro, transfer rates up to 5Gbps, USB A 2.0 compatible and below. Because HDD/SDD need more power, you can only connect 1 HDD/SSD with this adapter, and this adapter doesn't support Apple USB Super Drive.
Cons
  • The list is getting long.

BEWARE! ATTENTION! IT'S BURNING!

I have one new a macbook pro and got this to read my digital camera sd card. I received it tonight, connected it and inserted the card. At first everything was fine, pictures and videos appeared and I started importing and editing them. I started to feel warmth near my leg (laptop on my lap and adapter plugged in on the left and lying next to me). I reached out and found (burned my finger) that the adapter got so hot it started melting my SD card. It costs $80. I am angry. This thing sucks…

Pros
  • USB-C to HDMI adapter for 4K video: Mirror or extend the screen with a USB C hub HDMI connection and direct transmission of 4K UHD video at 30Hz or Full HD 1080P to HDTV, monitor or beamer
Cons
  • For old

Lots of features in a small package, but.

This little adapter was originally the answer to my prayers. It had everything I needed as a mobile photographer/videographer with Micro, SD and HDMI outputs. The device is slim, compact and made of aluminum, which gives it a really solid look. Problems arose after a few weeks, so I contacted the seller and am waiting for a replacement unit. The first one I ordered was constantly connecting/reconnecting to my USB-C, which frequently interrupted file transfers, and the HDMI output was buggy and…

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Obsolete model

So far, so good! - Computer Accessories and Peripherals

I have never heard of this brand and reviews are mixed. But the price was reasonable so I decided to give it a try. So far, so good. My laptop didn't have an HDMI port or a full-size SD card slot. For me as a photographer, both things are important for working on a big screen and importing files from camera memory cards. I was pleasantly surprised by the build quality. The adapter is made of durable metal, feels strong, not plastic. Of course, only time will tell the build quality. I checked…
