I have two Great Pyrenees Dogs to keep predators away from my animals. I understand you want them to bark to scare animals off my property, but sometimes they get stuck in barking mode. Dogs are mostly nocturnal, so if one or both get into the habit of barking incessantly at every leaf that falls from a tree, they can grow old very quickly. It seems to be cyclical where I can break a habit for a few months then one of them will start again. I've used the same collars before and they work well. Unfortunately, most of them are made in a different design where the clamps are not that easy to swap out. My dogs run around our large yard which has many areas with thick trees and bushes and snapping collars. In most cases, these collars cannot be replaced, so they must be thrown in the trash. These bark collars are easy to replace so this shouldn't be a problem. If (when) they break the collars I can just replace them and put them back on. I have used these shock collars and always test them on myself before putting them on any of my dogs. The shock is not painful. You can feel it and it's more of a tingling than an electric shock. It feels like something sharp is piercing your skin, not hard enough to pierce but enough to notice. It doesn't seem to hurt the dog, but it does get his attention. One day of shock therapy is usually sufficient. Dogs quickly learn that barking causes a beep, vibration, and shock. After the first day I can turn off the electric shock feature so it just beeps and vibrates. Leaving the collars on my dogs for a week is enough to stop the annoying barking for a couple of months. They still go mad barking at coyotes and bobcats, but they're not provoked by cars cruising down the road or the wind blowing through the trees. This is a very efficient solution. These collars are slightly better than others I've tried. The controls are more intuitive than other collars I've used where I had to find instructions to remind me how to change modes or adjust sensitivity. They are much easier to use. As I mentioned earlier, straps are easy to swap out so they should last longer. They charge easily and last a long time. If you are looking for bark collars these are the best I have used to date.
