There's a lot to be said for this radio and a pair of knitwear. I recently hiked an excellent trail and used this radio daily. Be it campfire tunes or weather reports (one night was terrible weather with a big storm). Pros: great battery life. I never put extra 3AAA in the radio because I didn't want the extra weight. The battery on this one never died. In the morning I put it out in the sunlight and that seemed to be enough to keep it charged. I was in a pretty remote area. I was still able to receive many radio stations (FM only). Also, the weather bands were clear and I was able to get information about the systems they were passing through along with the timing. Cons: The tuner is a little off. For example when I try to find 92.5 FM. It was more like 94. It wasn't a big deal because there's enough room at the end of the dial so you still get the full frequency range. The solar panel is a bit loose when erected. I put a stick behind him so he was pointing at the sun. In general, I really like this radio. I'm glad I bought it and it helped a lot with camping. Especially one night when we found strong light moving in. I would recommend!
