This solved the start button problem on my Whirlpool dryer. The old switch didn't click or click when pressed and appeared to be loose and not working which was causing the problem. I've tried removing and repairing the old switch, but a spring that has come loose is very difficult to put back in place. Glad I figured it out as it can gouge out an eye if misplaced. Guys, even if you like fixing things like me, at this reduced price, take care of your time, serenity and eye! and just order this part. Strap for removal and installation. The dryer started immediately. I also ordered 4 sets of thermal fuses to match the safety circuit while I was on it. Again, it is very cheap to purchase and easy to install. The dryer started immediately.
