Review on Aunt Marthas 28 Inch Towels Premium by Christina Potter

Revainrating 3 out of 5

and I have a good memory for fabric

That's only three stars unless the material is "recycled cotton" it would be four stars. The term "recovered cotton" means shredded cotton scraps that are added to fresh cotton to be pulled out before spinning, resulting in scruffy, much less coarse cotton (you won't see it until you hold it up to the light). I bought these on the recommendation of another reviewer here at Revain, who seems to have found that most of the "bags of flour" on offer are real junk. They will, but as far as I can remember it's not YET flour burlap and I have a good memory for fabrics as I both sew and weave. , but I couldn't measure them because it was secondary to me. I looked at the fabric through the light and it seemed thin to me, but I had a feeling that if I could shrink it a bit it would become stiffer and suitable for my purpose (puddings). If you give flour I tossed them in (very) hot water and baking soda and put them in the dryer. They came out 26 x 26, and the weave pulled up quite a bit (of course it pulled up, sit down!). Still, it's not the flour burlap I remember.
