Good personal webcam for video conferencing

Due to high prices and lack of stock, there aren't many webcams available right now so based on other reviews I decided to try them. It supports 1080p and most operating systems. It's manual focus, which is a little annoying, but once you've got it focused, it's pretty sharp. Installation was easy. I connected it to a windows laptop and installed the drivers. Some reviews say "no manual" but mine came with a 40+ page manual tucked into the bottom of the plastic "tread". I didn't need it as I had no problems but I'm glad it's there. The clip design fits my laptop well. Please note that the base has a tripod thread if you need to mount it on a tripod. It worked straight away with my video software and Zoom. After connecting I checked the picture. It certainly outperforms my built-in laptop in sharpness, white balance and color reproduction, it looks "more vivid". Can't compare to other brands like Logitech but it's way better than my laptop, about the same as my Android phone and tablet (8MP but 1080p for video). The microphone works, but not very much, it sounds "muffled". After comparing it, it's worse than the analog mic in my laptop, so I'll keep using it (or a headset). It has a 55Β° field of view, which is narrower than most other webcams, phones, etc. that are around 80Β° or wider. For a personal video conferencing webcam, I consider this a huge plus (and a factor in my purchasing decision). You can be at a more comfortable distance, and shots of the face and shoulders take up more screen real estate without weird wide-angle distortions. However, if you need a group of people in the frame in a conference room, this may not be ideal. If you're shooting something like this and need a shot of your torso and where you work, you need to move the camera further away and use this tripod socket. Consider whether the FOV is appropriate for your application. Its field of view is very close to my phone's front camera, which is advertised as 78Β°. I also noticed barrel distortion around the edges. I'm still relatively happy with it, but 4 stars may be a bit high, significantly more than 3 stars, so 3rd something. Much better than my laptop, relatively affordable, meets my needs. It fits my application well and I am happy with it. I wish it had auto focus. Also, it's about my laptop's camera.
