I tried several cables and found that many didn't work. Some of them weren't fast charging (just charging normally) for some odd reason, and there also appeared to be an issue with the Pixel 2's ability to transfer files to PC - connections would often fail. So when I connected this cable (to the newly installed male-to-female extension cable that runs my desktop Thunderbolt 3 port from the back of the PC to my desk (top)), I got a fast charging notification on my Pixel 2 .thumbs BUT within seconds an annoying message popped up saying something had gone wrong and the device wasn't recognized. Maybe there's a problem with the driver'", finding and installing drivers was up to date, so I started packing [good] cables for return. Before shipping, I decided to do another test, stuck putting the pixel in my laptop and see what happened made a good connection and prompted me to choose what I want to do. After I selected file transfer everything worked. So now I stopped and considered. Maybe the data transfer capabilities of Thunderbolt/USB C 3.1 very sensitive to the maximum cable length limitations I unplugged the extension cable from my desktop computer, plugged the JSAUX cable directly into my desktop's Thunderbolt port and plugged the other end into my Pixel 2. Viola! ran as it should and file transfer was smooth so I can say I highly recommend this well built, high quality cable can hl. Great price for a pair and does everything I need. One final note: many cables don't seem to "snap" into the Pixel 2, resulting in a poor connection, which results in "charging" confirmation even though it's connected to a fast charger. JAUX cables don't have this problem, they seem to fit better and provide a good connection every time.
