After reading the article I took a look at my 30 year old Ping Eye II (1-LW) irons and found that many of the grooves have obvious ridges and dents and are definitely not sharp. I ordered this tool based on reviews and was convinced that it was of high quality and durable. I watched a few application videos and followed their methods but found it had very little effect. Apparently, as mentioned in several reviews of this and other tools, the old pings are made of some kind of super hard metal that even this tool can do little without EXTREME amounts of elbow grease and muscle pain. Worked with a lot less effort on some of the other weird rackets I have laying around in my garage, so not a bad tool, just not for old pings.
