Review on πŸ”Œ HDMIHOME 50cm Dual Power 12V and 5V eSATAp Power ESATA USB 2.0 Combo to 22Pin SATA Cable for 2.5 3.5 Hard Disk Drive: A Reliable Data Transfer Solution by David Ruwala

Damn, this thing is boiling!

I have an old first generation Dell i7 laptop. Great screen, great keyboard, made like a tank. Much quick. But only USB 2.0. It has one of those USB/SATA combo ports that I've never used. HOLY SH***. Doesn't matter. Ideal for connecting external storage such as an SSD or a 2.5" hard drive. A 3.5 inch hard drive that requires more voltage will not be powered. My old DELL can now transfer data externally at 275MB/s! My old USB 2.0 ports are around 30MB/s. Almost 10x improvement.

Pros
  • Can be connected to the 5V eSATAp connector to get just the 5V required to run a 2.5 HDD. (Please make sure your Esata power port supports 12V if you want to connect a 3.5" hard drive directly)
Cons
  • Available in black only
