I've never used them in the 5 decades I've had flashlights. I didn't know about them until I saw them here. I came across them while browsing, read about their uses and thought they were good. They are designed to prevent the flame from getting back into the tank. Other sellers sell them at a significantly higher price, but in my opinion this seller sells them at a decent price. They were easy to install. I recommend "just in case” for the situation. You can never be too safe when handling flashlights.
