I really wanted to like this product - great concept

Overall the product was a great concept but overall it didn't live up to the performance. Very cool design concept to use the compressive force generated by the arc BUT IT IS VERY NOISY - maybe it's the choice of material? I put a spacer between the sheets on the back and the noise didn't decrease. So hopefully if you buy this you won't have anyone bugging you with a squeak. Another annoyance I noticed is that it flexed enough to shift the force to the inside edge of the molding on the side of the handle, after some use it took over the strong door frame molding and pulled the material away in a twisting motion . Thankfully upstairs and hidden, but unnecessarily annoying. In my opinion it's better to attach your molding with the strongest construction glue and use GRK equivalent screws to secure it in the doorway to keep it in place. I doubt there will be suitable door frames, along with people who can take the creaking, but it won't be me.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Hard to say
