These pads are very compressed. They swell up a bit when wet. However, not so much. They are about 2 1/2 inches wide. When wet they are about 1/4 inch thick. You are very gross! They do an excellent job of exfoliating. One is enough for many applications. They come in 20. They're a bit hard to scrub around the eyes and nose. But they work well on the rest of the face.
