I was looking for a simple whetstone to sharpen the new edge of my wooden chisels. This diamond coated stone has made all my chisels sharper than I have ever been able to achieve since buying them new. I would recommend using it with a chisel sharpening guide so the edge you sharpen is straight, cut at the perfect angle and correct. I was particularly impressed by how the diamond abrasive sharpened my bits very quickly. Just a few strokes on the 400 grit side, then a few more strokes on the 1000 grit side to get a true, sharp and polished cut. It took me less than 15 minutes to get perfect cut edges on my set of 4 wooden chisels.
