I first bought these while in Las Vegas celebrating a New Year some years ago. The price was 4 times the cost of these but made by the same people. The ones that I just purchased show some improvements in operational functions and directions but work the same as the first one that I bought. New are the color of the frames and lights. I like the fact that you can program quite easily the message to be conveyed. During Covid pandemic we used ours to wish a neighbor a happy birthday recording which was greatly appreciated. We even programmed his name in the scrolling message. Word of caution: It will turn an adult back to puberty in a heartbeat. Great Christmas gift across the board of ages.
