Cheaper alternative to branded ink

This is the first time I buy printer ink from this brand and I will definitely buy it again as it is much cheaper than Canon printer ink ($36.99 vs. 66, $75 per Revain). The packaging was minimal and the ink cartridges were easy to insert into the printer. The cartridges are also transparent, making it easy to see how full they are (and they were very full). Personally, I only like it because the company is incredibly transparent (ha!) when creating an article like this. Standard printer ink comes in an opaque cartridge, making it impossible to see how much (or how little) ink is inside. I'm glad this company chose cartridges that let you see what's inside. To test the ink, I printed some test pages on standard printer paper, as well as some shots with A4 photo paper (plus Glossy II) and standard printer paper (to compare with photo paper). My test pages turned out great, and the first image I printed on photo paper (an image of a tabby cat) looked good too, although there was discoloration in some areas of the image. The next image I printed on photo paper (an image of a white and black cat) didn't turn out very well - the black parts of the photo turned magenta (and when reprinting the photo at 'high' quality vs 'standard' , the violet color was even more pronounced). To check if it was the paper or the ink, I reprinted the same photo on standard printer paper and the colors came out exactly as they should. I also printed another image using standard printer paper and it came out as it should too. I'm not sure if the problem was with the photo paper, the settings I used to print, or the ink itself, but I would urge anyone purchasing this ink to consider this when taking photos with this paper-ink combination prints. Unfortunately I wasn't able to test it again as I only had a limited amount of photo paper at the time. All in all it was a great deal and I plan to buy this ink again when my current ink runs out. This is a cheaper alternative that works just as well as Canon inks. While there were some issues with photo printing on photo paper, I can't pinpoint what caused the issue, so I encourage other buyers to do their own testing of the product.
