Review on Favofit Aluminium Wiregate Carabiner Orange by Will Bremer

Chaining our *strong* Lab in the winter was a challenge as the small clamps froze and became difficult to manipulate in the frigid snowy weather. I bought them as an "intermediary", left them on the end of the chain and attached to the dog's collar when he went outside. The last few clips barely lasted the winter and they fell apart. At first I was a bit incredulous about the design. (Will that wire-like thing hold up?) I didn't have to worry. The first clip is still up and running and I honestly can't tell you how it looks, looks or works. The clasp stays secure, the spring works just like the first day I plugged it in, and the finish looks surprisingly good after a few months outdoors. I bought a pack of four (4) pieces. My only problem now is figuring out how I'm going to use the other three; this one could outlive me. In this case, I consider the purchase price for just one clip to be a bargain if I never have to replace it. (Of course, that may be wishful thinking, but we're off to a good start.) Edit: It's now April 24, 2021. We survived *another* winter in Chicago and the first clip works like new. Our dog has some paint chipping where the hair clip rubs against the chain and loop on the collar, but I had to look around to notice. Usually still a nice, easily recognizable orange. I am even happier with my purchase than before. We all sang the sad chorus about "they don't make things the way they used to." I don't know how they made those videos but I can't imagine they are much better than this one.
