The original design of the top of the reel was not very good. After literally two minutes of racing and a few runs, I found that the rubber boot on top came loose and the long bolt that set the top in had a lot of play in the bottom and almost fell out entirely as it wasn't installed well. There is some sort of hollow tube that holds the screw head, just gets stuck in it and the metal has been badly crimped to hold it in place then there is a little tattered mesh that looks and resembles metal shavings wrapped around the screw , to keep it from tipping to one side, and then a boot is placed on top of it, then a small tip is screwed on to make it a male tip for the female end, if a wire boot. If I had known it was so engineered and poorly designed it would have been easier to just use the other end of the men's boot to match the women's MSD Baster 2 style! #3 is exactly the same as #2, with a poorly designed tip to make it work with a woman's boot, and if you pull the wire when needed, it ends up bending and loosening the metal inside, which this screw holds. ! Needless to say, it almost completely fell off! I will never buy it again, I will just change the coil wire back to the pin end and use coil 2.
