it worked very well. my techie is happy about charging via usb ports for his samsung s5 and galaxy tab. With the bulky dimensions of most AC plugs today, swivel outlets are a great concept. I really didn't want extra sockets to avoid overloading the circuit in my camper van but as we didn't always have something plugged into the plugs I decided to buy this as it's nice to be able to leave 2 USB & 2 mains cables that we use all the time are actually plugged in all the time (Mac Air and Surface), and then you can briefly plug in a printer or vacuum if you need to - without having to unplug other plugs you do. it's within plain sight and I don't find it obtrusive - yes, it's bulky and sticks out 2 1/8" from the wall, but for me it was an added bonus because I can place an iPod speaker in its stand right on top can of it. while loading!
