My '89 Dodge Ram 318 block had a cable seal and I couldn't get it out. I bought this bad boy and he pulled it out with ease. tips. 1) Be sure to unscrew and loosen the main cap bolts on the crank and tap with a rubber mallet to lower the caps and crank slightly. 2) Tighten the corkscrew removal tool. Don't overdo it or you'll break it. Even though it's made of steel, it can still break. Tighten enough to get adequate resistance. 3) Lock the vise grips around the pin ring area. This ring will hurt hell if he tries to pull. Using a vise provides a better grip for the whole hand, not just one finger. 4) Turn the handle clockwise while pulling out the driver's side seal. They say it takes two people, but it can be done with one. If you're leaning at an angle in front of the car and holding a decent length of the brake rod on the harmonic balance nut with one hand while pulling on the corkscrew/vise with the other hand. It takes a little effort, but once started, it should come out easily. 5) Align what was removed from the top gasket with the removed main cover. It should fit completely inside the hat. If not, then you still have a piece of rope sigil. 6) Follow it with the installer's cable to make sure it's not a restriction. There shouldn't be any. 7) install with rubber gasket and never use cable gasket again. Unless you have the opportunity. Thank you for reading.
