Review on Slsy 1 Gallon Electric Alcohol Distiller: Efficient Countertop Water Distiller with Connection Bottle for Home Brew Wine Making Kits by Omar Chavez

For water ok. Forget other solvents.

Although it's a bit slow start, it still works well for water. Based on the time it takes to boil a full tank of water, I suspect the heating elements are undersized for the thermal mass represented by the volume of the tank. I have successfully distilled three full portions of water. My spring water comes from the municipal water supply. Municipal water has a TDS of around 280 ppm. My reverse osmosis filtration system reduces this to about 7.0 ppm. I used 7ppm water as the source of distillation. The resulting distilled water measured between 0.9 and 0.7 ppm. Not bad for a device in this price range. I will keep this unit for when I need distilled water. However, in my experience, this particular machine is virtually useless for predictable ethanol recovery. When attempting to distill ethanol, there is a significant "fluctuation" in temperature; the result is a result whose evidence is all over the map. With the original liquid, which was almost 200 permeable, I set the temperature to 80°C. It should have been hot enough to start the distillation process, but it wasn't. I waited a considerable amount of time and eventually had to raise the temperature to 90 degrees to get condensation. With "difference" down to just 2s (the minimum available), I saw variations from 84s (6 points below my target and 4 points outside of the expected range) to 95s (5 points above my target and 3 points outside of the expected range) . my attitude). expected range). This indicates a bad calibration and also confirms the theory that the heating system does not match the thermal mass/inertia of the vessel.
