I've been using these in my Culligan jug for a few years but something has changed. The last cartridge (from a different batch) had a sour taste which I thought was my cleaning mistake as I had used vinegar to remove limescale. I thought I accidentally didn't flush enough. Over time, the sour taste disappeared. Then, when it was time to switch, I opened a new box of three cartridges, followed all the directions, rinsed the pot *no vinegar this time* and the sour taste returned. I use them to filter well water. It doesn't contain chlorine or chemicals from purified water, it just needs to filter out all the impurities and leave a good taste. That does not work. Throw them in the trash and try the Brita Jug and Filter instead. Too bad. However, be careful if you want to use Culligan filters.
