Descending in the Rocky Mountains I had two big holes that I made right in the rock garden. I plugged the holes with these "bacon strips" and was able to get halfway down the mountain before one of the holes started leaking again. It was probably a bit of bad luck and possible user error of not being able to cut the connector flush enough with the tire so the end of the tag was ripped off. I will still keep them in my backpack just in case, but using a patch kit to patch large holes in a tubeless tire is definitely recommended.
