Absolutely necessary if you use tubeless tires. me though

Essential when using tubeless tires. I'd love to make my own plugs out of much larger car tires, but it's not worth it. I only wish you could buy a pack of extra plugs. It seems wasteful to buy a brand new kit when all you need is more connectors.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Running speed

A MUST ON THE ROAD!

Crazy not to have one on the go! I was riding Wildeness 101 and at mile 35 I had a puncture in my tire that was spewing sealant and wouldn't close. It took a few minutes to fish them out and plug the hole easily. It took the remaining 65+ miles on a very rocky trail. That was a week ago, tire pressure is still holding.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other picks

Mandatory for tubeless

This is a MUST if you use your tubeless mountain bike. As good as tubeless headphones are, sometimes you get a hole that just won't close. Yes you can put a hose in but then you have a mess, it will take a lot of time, you have to take out the valve stem etc. And then when you get home you have to undo all that work. With them, you just stick one (or sometimes two) in the hole, add some air and you're done, there's nothing else to do. I have driven 2000 miles on the tires which I have sealedโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast

  • Updates available

Almost misled me

Descending in the Rocky Mountains I had two big holes that I made right in the rock garden. I plugged the holes with these "bacon strips" and was able to get halfway down the mountain before one of the holes started leaking again. It was probably a bit of bad luck and possible user error of not being able to cut the connector flush enough with the tire so the end of the tag was ripped off. I will still keep them in my backpack just in case, but using a patch kit to patch large holes in aโ€ฆ

Pros
  • An absolute legend

  • Some problems

Works well for me as a tool and gear

I've had to use them a few times on my tubeless mountain bike and it's a lot better than working with tube patches. It's a little fiddly to fit the repair sticks onto the included tool, but you get used to it after a while and it's still quick enough. I managed to crash pretty hard, punching a hole in my rear tire, knocking the air out of my chest, and I was still able to stick a repair plug on a stick and plug the hole while panting, so can't be that bad. After about 3 patches in my rear tireโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Impressed so far. at Tire & Wheel Tools

I run a 29er with Ralph's Shwalbe (evo, skinny, light tires). I got a bite from a sharp rock a few weeks ago. The Stans wouldn't seal it. I put the phone on and walked on. The tire was fairly new and I really didn't want to leave a tube in it. I searched the internet for a tire patch and found this one. I've used many stubs in other tires (car tires, lawn mowers, etc.) and have had great luck. Because of the price, I decided to try them. I removed my tube, added some racks, pumped up the tireโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Great Price
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
