Product is solidly built and seems to do what it's supposed to. But, and it's great, it only accepts PCM 2.0 digital input. With digital television (Dolby AC-3), video streaming (Dolby Digital plus), etc., this is quite difficult. An old TV like mine does have an optical output but doesn't have the ability to control the output for 5.1 AC downmixing 3 output to PCM 2.0. This is only really useful for stereo digital music on a Windows PC. While USB audio worked to some extent with Linux, it's difficult and annoying to hack pulseaudio/ALSA to convert native multi-channel streams to 2.0.
