This shoe looks really weird. There is still little support, it is VERY tight in the area under the arch. It was like they were designed for people with tall, well defined arches (hence the narrowness), but then it was like they forgot to put a gasket under the arch to support the arch. My usual size is a 10 so I bought a 10.5 as several reviewers said it was too small. Even though I went a half size up, my foot was still about 1/2 inch above the shoe at the arch. I'd probably have to increase the size to an 11 or 12 to get the right width in that area, at that point they would already be VERY long for me. I have wide/flat feet so they just don't fit. If you have similar problems I would avoid these shoes. One more thing, these shoes are so light that just looking at them makes you think the box is empty. New Balance etc.) .d.) dense rubber sole covering the sole. upholstery foam. If you've ever ground down a tough outer layer into a cushioning layer, you know how quickly the cushioning layer wears down in direct contact with the road. Without that thick layer of rubber, I can't imagine these shoes lasting half as long as other shoes with traditional soles, and without the thicker rubber I wouldn't want to punch anything sharp! :(
