I'm sure you could use it to wash dishes (if it's safe to do so) but as an upholstery cleaner it's a joke. I bought based on the high ratings and good reviews. It doesn't foam much at all (think again, dish soap) so I don't see why it's advertised as "high foam". I think I used a lot of soap in my mix as some sudsy soap pulled out when extracting which took a while for the soap to even come out. My car's upholstery was relatively clean to begin with, no stubborn stains like sticky stains or light stains etc - my seats and carpets are also black so most stains won't show up anyway so it wasn't a crazy request to this cleaner. . I've gone through them several times with vacuum and suction but they didn't fit. I used a can of real sudsy upholstery cleaner and they came up right away. My car's soft headliner is beige and had dirt/fade stains. I tried using a cleaner that spread the stain and caused tan/orange stains on my roof, not just scattered dirt - it clearly just spread the stain. I had to redo the entire interior roof of my car with a different cleaner to remove the stains and give it a special color (same upholstery foam cleaner again). I was also hoping to use it on our rather expensive light gray sofa and at the moment I don't trust this product. I honestly want my money back.
