Review on Stanley MR100CG Contractor Grade Riveter by Justin Miller

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great tool, I can't find enough use for it!

It seemed like a good choice between money and other reviews. I ended up driving it and buying it. Shipping was fast although I've never had any problems with Amazon. When it arrived (I also bought a set of MAXCRAFT 7705 aluminum rivets, 500 pack), I quickly opened up the tool and inspected it. It feels VERY heavy with a two piece solid metal construction. I had to use it, so I unscrewed the license plate and attached it with rivets. It's comfortable to hold and a strong grip breaks the rivet. Sometimes a second squeeze is needed, just release the handles to allow the tool to grab the rivet and grab the handle again to break it. Now no one can steal my license plate that easily! So I never bothered, but any excuse to use a new tool is good. The only "minus" and it's not such a big deal that there is no space on the tool to store a wrench that allows you to tune the tool with different tips. I followed another reviewer's recommendation and used a rubber band on one handle so I could easily slide the wrench in or out to hold it with the tool.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Some small things
