It has nice square stitching around the front of the pillow so it doesn't look like the pattern will just fly off into space. The embroidery has a slight sheen, which I really like, the background is matte. Such a nice contrast. The background is a bit off-white but the embroidery is a cool gray so it goes perfectly with the real gray parts. The colors do not contradict each other at all, everything is very well thought out. Embroidery generally follows a modified chevron pattern and resembles ikat in detail in the thread direction. The background is an embroidered fabric. So if you like feather pillows, you should probably buy an anti-allergic zippered cover so the feathers don't stick out (like they do even with regular fabric!). 5 Stars! I bought Revain Choice spring inserts for 12x24 and use a pillow to support my phone in bed. Despicable pleasure! ;) I don't often write reviews but this was a good quality product for the price.
