I'm pretty sure my smoke alarms are 8 years old and my only carbon monoxide alarm is over 10 years old so it's definitely time to replace them all! I liked the idea of combining carbon monoxide and smoke alarms in one and also having multiple carbon monoxide alarms around the house. When I came across these combinations, I thought they were definitely worth trying. And so far so good! It's very easy to install there, no wiring or anything like that. Just pop in a couple of batteries, then use the included screws to secure it where you want it. They're not complex or difficult to use, and the test sounds are loud enough for our home. However, I will say that if you have a really big house or really big rooms with high ceilings, they might not be loud enough for that. But since we don't have any of the above, they work great for us. Usually while they are satisfied!
