Black light worked great once

The first time I used black light it worked great. The next day I wanted to test my cleaning and it didn't work. I changed the batteries, still didn't work but I unscrewed the cap and held it in place and tapped the battery connector until the light came on. But it didn't spin and the light didn't come on. I had to slightly hold it in such a position that the light kept burning. A bit harsh, I have to admit.
