Review on TEKWARE Solar Power Auto Darkening Welding Helmet Hood Welder Mask with Breathable Grinding Helmets, Adjustable Shade Range 4/9-13 by Robert Gomatham

This helmet just didn't fit me. I couldn't see what I was doing while mig welding at all. I tried using cheaters but it didn't help. There were a few times where I couldn't replicate, where I could barely see enough to weld, but basically I welded, lifted my helmet and hoped I'd welded where I wanted. There was no way to control the weld pool or even see it. Eventually I turned on the limelight. It was very helpful to light up the area before I started welding so I knew I was in the right position at least to begin with. But as soon as I started welding, it got too dark to see anything again. I wonder why they don't have a colored pencil so you can draw a line where you want to weld that's easy to see as you weld. I'm still sending the helmet back. I buy a Yes welding helmet because several reviews mention that this helmet gives you very good vision. I will try to come back after wearing this helmet to let you know if I have the same problem. In this case it would probably mean that the problem is in my old eyes and not in the helmet. Okay, I got the helmet today. Yes. It was a complete difference. For the first time I could see clearly what I was doing. Wonderful! Now I can really learn to weld! I can't say for sure that Tekware is of poor quality. Maybe my eyes and the Tekware lens just aren't compatible. Also, the Yes helmet sits much more comfortably on a person's head. It has a very ergonomic strap and neck pad, while Tekware only had a 1-inch plastic strap that couldn't be tightened enough to stay comfortable.
